Senior SRE Engineer

Responsibilities / Qualifications
· Independently determine the needs of the customer and create solution frameworks.
· Design and develop moderately complex software solutions to meet needs.
· Use a process-driven approach in designing and developing solutions.
· Implement new software technology and coordinate end-to-end tasks across the team.
· May maintain or oversee the maintenance of existing software.
- Collaborative support in coordinating between Onshore vs Offshore and Client interaction skills
- Quick learner with an attitude to explore and learn new tools and framework
- SRE with 5+ years of exposure to Performance, Observability, Reliability and Resilience/Chaos Engineering of largescale latency sensitive enterprise applications
- Knowledgeable in SLI, SLO and SLA definition and management, Error budget driven development
- Experienced in Application performance management tools and frameworks like Dynatrace, AppD, Elastic stack, Grafana stack, etc.
- Experienced with telemetry tooling and observability systems such as: Jaegar, Prometheus, OpenTracing, OpenTelemetry, App Dynamics, Splunk, DataDog, NewRelic, Lightstep, Grafana.
- Expert in ITSM process & tools like JIRA, ServiceNow, Pagerduty, knowledgeable in AIOps process and tools like Moogsoft.
- Expert in developing executive friendly dashboards based on observable metrics in IT systems (KPIs, Incident Trends, MTTR, MTTD etc).
- Knowledgeable in Observability tool and framework standardization and unification.
- Experienced with some amount of ‘Big Data’ technologies such as: ElasticSearch, NoSql Stores, Kafka, Columnar Databases, DataFlow or Pipeline Systems, Graph DataStores.
- Expertise in Log Analytics (Custom built tools, Splunk). Exposure to Kibana, Elastic Search.
- Strong experience with ServiceNow ITOM, ITSM Modules that focuses Discovery, Event Management, Incident, Problem and Change Management
- Experience in defining manual / semi-automated / automated RCA procedures in commercially available platforms & tools
- Exposure in setting up detection mechanisms based event correlation and prediction, self-learning and self-healing capabilities
- Excellent understanding of Docker & Kubernetes or similar container based architectures
- Excellent understanding of micro-services architecture, design patterns, and standard methodologies with an eye towards scale, automation, resiliency, and high availability
- Collaborative support in coordinating between Onshore vs Offshore and Client interaction skills
- Quick learner with an attitude to explore and learn new tools and framework
Skills
• 5+ years of experience supporting cloud applications and technologies, including containerization, virtualization, microservices, and server-less architecture.
• 5+ years of experience working in an Agile, Scrum, or Kanban environment.
• 5+ years of experience with application monitoring / observability, including building dashboards, establishing service level indicators / objectives / agreements (SLIs / SLOs / SLAs), and logging / tracing.
• Strong experience in SQL and able to solve Performance Issues, Query tuning, Job Scheduler issues
• Hands on experience using FogLight for DB analysis
• Excellent problem-solving skills and proactivity in resolving issues / blockers
• Excellent verbal / written communication skills, relationship management skills, and ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders
• Eagerness to learn and ability to work independently with minimal guidance

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $81,337 to 141,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
