About the Shop
This independent automotive repair shop is seeking an experienced Diagnostic Automotive Technician to join its team in Upper Arlington, OH. This opportunity offers $30–$55 per hour flat rate, an average of 40 flagged hours per week, and a Monday through Friday schedule with no weekend work. Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose advanced electrical and drivability concerns across Domestic, Asian, and European vehicles.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical issues.
- Complete advanced automotive repairs, including engine and transmission removal and replacement.
- Perform timing chain and head gasket repairs.
- Assist less experienced technicians with diagnostics and repair strategies.
- Complete a digital vehicle inspection (DVI) on every repair order.
- Build accurate repair tickets with labor times and part numbers.
- Utilize Autel and Snap-on diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve vehicle concerns.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional automotive repair experience.
- Strong diagnostic, electrical, and drivability troubleshooting skills.
- Experience performing complex automotive repairs.
- Engine and transmission removal and replacement experience.
- Timing chain and head gasket repair experience.
- Ability to mentor and support less experienced technicians.
- ASE Certifications preferred.
- Experience with Tekmetric preferred.
- Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI) experience preferred; training is available.
- State inspection, emissions, DOT, or other automotive certifications preferred.
- Previous Lead Technician or Diagnostic Technician experience preferred.
