- Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 6:30am-4pm. No weekends, holidays, or call!

- Education
- Education Level Required/Preferred Description
- High School or GED Required Graduate of an accredited School of Surgical Technology program or Military Training Equivalent (68D – Operating Room Specialist).
- For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have certification please see additional skills required. Online Surgical Tech program credits will not be accepted.

- Preferred Previous Surgical Technologist experience.
- Current Surgical Tech Certification Preferred
- Current Surgical Tech Certification - based on state specific regulations (South Carolina Region Only) Required
- For incumbents who are not graduates of an accredited School of Surgical Technology or have
certification the following additional requirements apply: new graduates must obtain certification
within 12months of hire. Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skill
validation and competency testing. Demonstrate effective and appropriate customer service skills,
verbal and nonverbal communication techniques, interpersonal relationship skills, and time
management skills. - One to two years of experience in sterile processing or equivalent training if assigned solely to
sterile processing.
What You'll Do:
- Prepare the operating room, ensuring equipment and sterile supplies are available.
- Sterilize, assemble, and check equipment
- Review surgeon preferences to prepare specialized trays.
- Wash and disinfect incision sites.
- Position the patient on the operating table
- Clean and transport instruments for terminal sterilization.
- Assist with cleaning and turning over the operating room for the next patient.
- Restock the operating room with necessary supplies.
