Compensation: $55,000- $60,000 Based on experience
Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and safety-focused Bus Driver Trainer to join our transportation team. The Bus Driver Trainer is responsible for recruiting, training, mentoring, and evaluating new and existing bus drivers to ensure compliance with company policies, state and federal regulations, and industry best practices. This role plays a critical part in maintaining a culture of safety, professionalism, and exceptional customer service.We offer:

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct classroom and behind-the-wheel training for new bus driver candidates.
- Develop and deliver training programs covering safety procedures, defensive driving techniques, passenger management, and regulatory compliance.
- Evaluate driver performance through road tests, ride-alongs, and skills assessments.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and corrective training as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all DOT, FMCSA, state, and company regulations.
- Maintain accurate training records, certifications, and documentation.
- Assist with driver recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives.
- Investigate accidents and incidents and provide follow-up training when necessary.
- Stay current on industry regulations, training methods, and safety standards.
- Support ongoing professional development programs for transportation staff.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional transportation or training certifications preferred.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of commercial bus driving experience.
- Previous training, coaching, or instructional experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations, vehicle safety standards, and defensive driving practices.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to evaluate performance objectively and provide constructive feedback.
- Strong organizational and recordkeeping abilities.
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and training documentation systems.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to operate commercial passenger vehicles safely.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform vehicle inspections.
- Ability to work flexible schedules.
