Join a traveling Physical Therapist assignment in Virginia Beach, VA at an outpatient facility where you will help patients recover from injuries and manage chronic conditions while experiencing a new location. You will evaluate patients, develop and implement treatment plans, delegate discipline-specific therapy services, and provide education to patients, families, students and coworkers. You will document care in compliance with regulatory and clinic standards and participate in performance improvement and professional development activities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program recognized by the APTA.
- Active Virginia physical therapy license is required to start the assignment.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross may be required.
- Experience in outpatient physical therapy delivering evaluations, individualized treatment plans, and functional goal-directed care.
- Ability to complete timely, accurate clinical documentation including goal writing, quality indicators, letters of medical necessity, and charge entry.
- Demonstrated competence in safe patient handling and materials handling.
- Adherence to state practice act, professional code of conduct, and completion of required continuing education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous travel or contract therapy experience in outpatient settings.
- Experience supervising or mentoring students and supporting clinical education.
- Familiarity with performance improvement initiatives and participation in quality projects.
Assignment Details
- Schedule examples provided by the client: Monday 7:00 AM–5:00 PM; Tuesday 7:00 AM–3:30 PM; Wednesday 7:00 AM–5:00 PM; Thursday 7:00 AM–3:30 PM; Friday 7:00 AM–12:00 PM. Position is 40 hours per week and exact schedule will be determined based on patient access needs.
