UPMC is seeking a Full-Time Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Assistant/PA or Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner/CRNP) to join our Urology team. This role offers a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive urologic care across both outpatient and inpatient settings, balancing clinic-based visits with hospital rounding and consults.
This is an excellent opportunity for providers who enjoy variety in their practice, autonomy in clinical decision-making, and working closely with a collaborative surgical specialty team.
Schedule & Work-Life Balance
- Monday–Friday | Approx. 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- 50% outpatient clinic | 50% inpatient rounding/consults
- 1:4 weekday night call rotation
- 1:4 weekend call rotation
- Rotating holiday call coverage

What You'll Do
- Provide outpatient urology care, including evaluation and management of acute and chronic conditions
- Perform hospital rounding and inpatient consults in collaboration with urologists
- Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans using evidence-based practice
- Participate in call coverage, supporting urgent patient needs
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, procedures, and follow-up care
- Knowledge of growth and development principles
- Ability to provide age-appropriate patient care across the lifespan
- Ability to assess patient data and deliver care per departmental policies
- Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, and clinical judgment skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Physical stamina and dexterity required for direct patient care
- Successful attainment and maintenance of hospital privileges, where applicable.
Licensure, Education, Certifications, and Clearances:
- Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner (CRNP)
- Physician Assistant (PA)
- Graduation from an ARC‑PA–accredited Physician Assistant program
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree preferred
- Pennsylvania PA license and NCCPA certification
- Required for All APP Candidates
- CPR certification
- CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
