At WVH, our emergency doctors manage hospitalized cases, outpatient emergencies and have the opportunity to perform a large variety of advanced soft tissue surgeries. Access to an orthopedic surgeon for on-site procedures or referral is available. Comfort with surgery and / or a willingness to learn are a necessary attribute for this role. We have worked hard to build an experienced team that supports collaboration and a healthy work-life balance. Our doctors are well supported with a 3:1 support staff to doctor ratio! We have dedicated ER technicians and ICU technicians, to provide the best patient care and continuity of care. Our ER doctors rotate through a schedule of day, swing, and overnight shifts, averaging 10-14 shifts per month.
