Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by the APTA.
- Active Alabama state license or ability to obtain state license prior to the assignment start.
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Acute care experience preferred. Candidates without acute care experience will be considered if willing to be trained and coached.
- Experience with Cerner/PowerChart EMR preferred.
- Ability to manage high-volume caseloads (typical patient load 10–12 per therapist, approximately 15 units per day).
- Team player who is adaptable and coachable.
Preferred Qualifications
- MSPT or DPT degree preferred.
- Experience treating trauma, orthopedics, neuro, cardiac, post-op, ICU, and med-surg patients.
- Prior hospital or level II trauma center experience preferred.
Assignment Details
- Standard hours per week: 40.
- Schedule: five 8-hour shifts per week.
- Weekend rotation: approximately once per month.
- May be asked to assist with major or minor seasonal holiday coverage per policy.
- Casueload may include any area within the hospital including trauma, orthopedics, neuro, med-surg, ICU, and ED; floating within the hospital is required.
- Three-day departmental orientation. Initial 1:1 support with a rehab aide during first one to two weeks.
