Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering nutritious meals and exceptional service within a healthcare or senior living setting. Your efforts will directly contribute to the well-being and comfort of residents and patients, supporting their health and happiness through quality food service.
Job Details
- Wage: $16.50/hour
- Full-time and part-time positions available
- Day/Evening/Morning shifts available
- Location: Knoxville Rehabilitation Center 1250 Tennova Medical Way Knoxville, TN 37909
Responsibilities
- Complete nutritional assessments for patients to create care plans with nutritional goals
- Document assessment of patients with nutritional goals and interventions in the medical record
- Provide oversight for patient services and production staff and monitor meal service
- Ensure patient preferences are recorded on meal tickets and that all meals and snacks adhere to the resident’s needs
- Adhere to the facility’s health and safety policies and procedures
- Assist team members and management as needed to help the department operate efficiently
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged standing and walking continuously, frequent stooping, bending and lifting up to 40 pounds
- Must be able to operate equipment necessary to perform essential functions of the job
Skills
- Experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper handling procedures
- Ability to manage time efficiently while multitasking in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of meal preparation, food service, and basic culinary techniques
- Excellent customer service skills with a caring attitude towards residents or patients
- Familiarity with food handling regulations and kitchen safety standards
- Prior dietary aide or food service experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates
