Job Overview:
Do you enjoy solving complex challenges in automated manufacturing and leading teams toward smarter, more reliable controls systems? Marvin is looking for a Senior Controls Engineer to join our Custom Equipment Group (CEG), where you’ll play a key role in advancing manufacturing and facility equipment. In this role, you’ll research, design, document, and implement controls systems that improve efficiency, safety, and scalability within our operations.
You’ll excel in this role if you bring in-depth technical knowledge and team leadership experience. By partnering closely with manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, systems, and facility teams, you’ll guide projects that introduce new technologies and capabilities to the production floor.
This job is located onsite in Fargo, ND. If relocation is needed, Marvin offers an extensive benefit package that may include household goods movement, temporary housing, and support from a relocation counselor to assist throughout the journey.
Highlights of your role:
- Lead and supervise the controls engineering team through projects of varying size and complexity
- Design, test, and evaluate control systems to ensure performance, safety, and regulatory compliance
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance machine efficiency and system scalability
- Partner with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to introduce new equipment, technologies, and products
- Provide technical support to maintenance personnel and operators, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge and tools to operate and maintain systems
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and up-to-date documentation of control systems, processes, and standards
You're a good fit if you have (or if you can):
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a 4-year degree in a related field
- 4+ years of controls engineering experience or training
- Expert knowledge of PLC and operator interface programming languages
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical and Microsoft Office applications
Also want to make sure you have:
- Ability to engineer and design electrical prints and schematics with precision and clarity
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Ability to support maintenance personnel and operators through training and technical guidance
