We are expanding our team and looking for a driven, detail-oriented Software Quality Engineer to join us in Cupertino, CA.
What You'll Do
- Execute manual and automated tests to validate software quality
- Perform software integration testing and develop test automation solutions
- Analyze test failures, identify root causes, and drive issues to resolution
- Design and automate new tests to improve coverage and efficiency
- Escalate and report key quality issues, ensuring timely resolution
- Enhance and maintain automated tests that validate code and ML models
- Build and maintain Test Automation CI/CD pipelines, including triaging and resolving pipeline issues
- Collaborate regularly with cross-functional teams across different geographical regions
- Communicate clearly and effectively in written and verbal English
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Software Development Engineer or Software Quality Engineer
- Expert programming and automation skills in one or more of the following: Python, Swift, Java, or comparable languages
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (preferred: TeamCity pipelines, including using Kotlin to create/modify pipelines)
- Ability to independently own and drive tasks and projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Apple OS platforms, debugging, or profiling tools
- Proven ability to analyze and identify root causes in multi-tiered, client-server environments
- Experience testing server backend services at the API or protocol level
- Proficiency with Git and source code management solutions
- Familiarity with ML systems and methodologies for testing ML models
- Previous experience working with LLMs and virtual assistants
- Familiarity with AI tooling
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Curious, proactive, and eager to learn and explore
- BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
Compensation
Hourly Rate: $48.00 – $52.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
