Overview:
RiverWoods Manchester is currently hiring for a contract Tai Chi Instructor to join our Fitness team to lead Saturday morning classes!
Responsibilities:
As a Tai Chi Instructor, you’ll help RiverWoods residents reach their goals in a supportive and energizing environment. You will:
- Lead group classes focused on proper form, movement, breathing, and flow while working with residents in Independent Living [IL] and Assisted Living [AL]
- Create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for participants of all fitness levels
- Offer modifications and guidance based on individual needs
- Demonstrate techniques with clarity and enthusiasm
- Encourage consistent attendance and foster a sense of community in your classes
- Work in state-of-the-art facilities with high-quality equipment and spacious studios
- Track attendance and complete documentation as required
Qualifications:
Required:
- Certification in Tai Chi
- Experience teaching group fitness or wellness classes, ideally including Tai Chi or similar modalities
- Previous experience working with the senior population
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Passion for inspiring others and helping people improve their physical and mental wellness
- Knowledge of fitness principles, body movement, and safe exercise practices
- Ability to engage with and motivate a diverse group of participants
- A background in exercise science, health & wellness, or fitness training is a plus
Preferred:
- Previous experience working in an Independent Living and Assisted Living environment preferred.
- First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
