Additional Information About the RoleOur cancer / infusion team at Barnes - Jewish Hospital is hiring a PRN Clinical Pharmacist!
This position will be based at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital Oncology Infusion Center at Town and Country (Suite 1025), located at 3015 North Ballas Road, and will support outpatient infusion services Monday–Friday. The role is designed to serve patients across three key service lines—oncology infusion, non-oncology infusion, and multiple sclerosis (MS) infusion—helping ensure safe, timely, and consistent medication-use processes from order verification through preparation, dispensing, and documentation.
In this environment, you will partner closely with nursing, providers, scheduling, and pharmacy leadership to optimize daily workflow, reduce treatment delays, and promote an exceptional patient experience. You will contribute to standardization across therapies and protocols, support operational readiness for evolving infusion needs, and help maintain compliance with all applicable regulatory, safety, and quality requirements. You’ll also help identify and implement process improvements that strengthen throughput, minimize variability, and support reliable service delivery across the Town and Country infusion footprint.

Role Purpose
Assess, monitor, initiate and modify medication use according to patient condition and age specific criteria. Ensure prompt and accurate medication preparation and dispensing. Prevent, direct and resolve medication-related issues. Supervise and direct supportive personnel. Counsel and educate to promote optimal drug therapy. Direct and assist in the procurement, storage, distribution and disposal of medications.
Responsibilities
Directs and manages workflow including oversight of technicians, interns and volunteers ensuring the accuracy of their work in accordance with departmental procedures and Federal and State regulations.Participates in departmental meetings and on committees at the health service organization, as appropriate.Serves as medication therapy resource for activities such as drug information, training of staff, transitions of care and Medication Therapy Services.Evaluates medication orders for appropriateness with regard to patient condition, organ function and concomitant therapies to promote optimal patient outcomes. Documents all activities and communication as appropriate.Recognize opportunities and offer solutions to maximize efficiency and promote safety within the medication use process.
