As our Supervisor of Physician Coding Education, you will lead coding education initiatives that strengthen documentation integrity, ensure regulatory compliance, and elevate professional services accuracy across the organization.
What You'll Do
- Lead the development, delivery, and oversight of high-quality coding audits and educational initiatives
- Design and facilitate engaging education materials, meetings, and presentations focused on professional services coding accuracy and documentation improvement
- Supervise daily department operations, ensuring process consistency and regulatory alignment
- Mentor, train, and support coding education staff, fostering continuous learning and professional development
- Analyze complex regulatory and payer guidelines (CMS, AMA, FCSO, OIG, and others) and translate them into actionable guidance
- Serve as a subject matter expert and trusted resource for Compliance, Informatics, Coding teams, and Practice Leadership
- Identify issues proactively, apply sound judgment, and implement effective resolutions in a fast-paced environment

Requirements
Education:Associate Degree in Health Information Management required. Applicable experience may be substituted for degree.
Experience:Minimum of 3 years of professional coding experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role preferred. Extensive knowledge and application of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, outpatient coding, E/M guidelines, and documentation standards required
Certification:CPC (Certified Professional Coder) required. CPMA (Certified Professional Medical Auditor) required.
Other:Coding software and Epic experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred. Prior experience in presenting to various audiences; strong public speaking skills preferred. Demonstrates strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Consistently demonstrates integrity and strong attention to detail.
