Position Summary
Responsible for preparation, review and/or reporting of operational accounting activities, including revenues (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), derivatives (ASC 815), and crude oil inventory in accordance with US GAAP. Understanding the partnership’s commercial and trading business and interfacing with senior management and cross functional personnel will also be required.

Primary Responsibilities
Lead monthly and quarterly close activities related to commercial accounting areas, including revenues, leases and derivatives
Drafting and completion of assigned areas within 10-K/Q and other internal and external financial reporting processes
Assist internal audit with controls testing and external auditors with annual audit
Analyze complex transactions, trading activities, and accounting issues as needed in fast-paced, public company environment
Communicate and explain complex matters on a regular on impromptu basis with senior management
Assist in other technical areas and special projects as needed
Education and Experience Requirements
Degree in accounting or related field
CPA (or candidate) preferred but not required
3-5 years of accounting experience (public or industry) or similar energy industry experience is required
Experience with Oracle and/or Right Angle a plus
Personal Attributes and Position Requirements
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively research accounting issues and standards
Upon completion of research, must be able to clearly communicate and document conclusions and assist other departments with the implementation of such conclusions
Effective interaction with middle and front office personnel, senior management, financial reporting, and internal and external auditors
Motivated and persistent approach to work, takes ownership of assigned tasks
Excellent organizational and spreadsheet skills, paying close attention to details
Cleared criminal history (background) and satisfactory reference checks
Compliance with the Company’s drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing.
