Job Summary:

The Expanded Duties Dental Assistant will be responsible for assisting the dentist, setting up equipment, preparing patients for treatment, compiling patient records, placing and finishing permanent restorations, and completing preliminary impressions.

Essential Functions:

The following is a summary of the essential functions for this position. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below, and specific job functions may change periodically.

Personally contribute to a culture that delivers an exceptional patient experience for every patient, every time.
Delivers clinically excellent dental care through education, quality, and treatment. Assists dentists and hygienists in quality diagnosis through x-rays, verbal communication, and other dental tests as directed.
Helps ensure efficient and profitable operations by seeking patient referrals, maintaining equipment, utilizing supplies cost-effectively, and posting patient charges accurately.
Follows CDC and OSHA guidelines for safety and infection control.
Completes all clinical notes according to practice guidelines before dismissing patients.
Prepares treatment room for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols. Provides instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to the treatment area; positioning instruments for the dentist's access, suctioning, and passing instruments.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
Places and finishes permanent restorations, complete preliminary impressions.
Promotes a "team first" attitude by demonstrating positive and caring relationships and communication with coworkers.
Other duties as needed.

Basic Education, Training, and Experience Required:

Required

Current Expanded Duties Dental Assistant Certificate
CPR certification, Coronal Polishing(Pedo practices only), X-ray certification
X-ray techniques, computer, fax machine, copier

Preferred

Associate or Bachelor's Degree
DANB, OSHA, Coronal polishing
1-3 years of experience
Open dental, digital x-ray, ultrasonic, sterilizer, autoclave, model trimmer
