Responsibilities
Outpatient Surgery RNs provide treatment for patients during pre- and post-op procedures, under the supervision of a physician or advanced practice nurse. Outpatient Surgery RNs job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Monitor patients pre-and post-op, including IV setup, monitoring vital signs, as well as post-op care instructions
- Communicate information regarding the patient condition to surgeons, anesthesia, management, and other staff as necessary
- Carry out physician orders, documenting all activities
