Job Summary and Qualifications
In this role, the CT Tech is responsible for performing CT scans while providing the highest level of customer service and image quality. This position requires working Sunday through Thursday on a schedule of four ten-hour shifts from 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM. In addition to CT scans, you may also be required to complete x-rays.
What You Will Do in This Role
Perform CT exams following protocols in a timely manner, ensuring high-quality images and care; coordinate patient flow and check the daily list to ensure all exams are complete.
Prepare procedure trays with appropriate supplies, take patient history, and retrieve any necessary orders or prior images.
Provide patient history, signs, and symptoms appropriate to the exam to the radiologist, and appropriately complete all required documentation.
Support ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles.
Inform patients about procedures, answer questions, and professionally communicate with physicians, patients, and family members.
Start IVs for contrast administration and use the power injector.
Contribute to after-hour coverage through on-call shift rotations.
Maintain all licenses, certifications, and accreditations required as outlined in job qualifications.
Handle daily upkeep of departmental work areas (cleaning, stocking, etc.).
Promote customer service initiatives by adhering to the ICARE values.
Support and participate in quality (QI) and performance improvement (PI) plans, and comply with quarterly targeted metrics (i.e., Kronos, HealthStream, PACS, etc.).
Demonstrate knowledge of human growth and development, assessment, range of treatment, and care of patients appropriate to the ages of patients served.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What Qualifications You Will Need
Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology.
Current ARRT certification with advanced registry, or registry eligible with advanced CT certification within 1 year of hire or within 6 months of eligibility.
1 year post-graduate experience preferred.
BLS certification required.
