Minimum to Midpoint Pay Rate:$22.78 - $29.62 / hour based on experience

Summary
Performs all Cancer Registry functions in compliance with national and state regulations and administrative law including data collection and follow-up of patients. Assists with cancer conferences and various registry activities including studies, audits, etc.
General Responsibilities Include:
Abstracting- Follows procedural requirements and guidelines of American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer, FCDS (Florida Cancer Data System), NCDB (National Cancer Data Base) and Lee Health. Independently complete a minimum of 90 abstracts per month. Run Monthly Suspense reports reviewed to identify cases for abstracting. Identify recurrences, and follow-up on monthly suspense reports. Case finding Review of pathology and cytology reports, ER/PR assays, and other diagnostic reports for identifying reportable cases. Weekly Cancer Conferences Assists in coordinating weekly cancer conferences and/or records and documents cancer conference findings. Assist with WebEx conferencing. Florida Cancer Data System Audits Assists with FCDS audits as necessary. Track National Cancer Database edits and performance. Run customized reports and track data. Respond to administrative and physician requests for data. Assists interns with their training. Maintains the ODS credential per NCRA.
Requirements
Education:
Associate degree required.
Experience:
2 3 years experience or applicable combination of certification and training. Microsoft Office.
Certification:
Cancer Registry Management Training Degree or Certification or associate degree in Health Information Management and formal coursework in Anatomy & Physiology.
License:
Oncology Data Specialist (ODS) credential.
Other:
Knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology and Medical Terminology.
