CENTRAL MONITORING UNIT
Position Summary: Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, provides continuous monitor observation and rhythm strip documentation. Documents and interprets rhythm strips for all patients. Communicates appropriate nurses of changes in cardiac rhythms. As a member of the nursing unit, conducts self to promote an organized and positive environment.
Essential Functions:

Clinical Responsibilities: Provides continues cardiac monitor observation.

Communication Responsibilities: Communicates the appropriate nurse of changes in cardiac rhythm/documents rhythm strips.

Technical Responsibilities: Ensures all cardiac telemetry monitoring equipment is in working order at all times. Flags monitor appropriately, i.e., patient off floor.
Qualifications/Requirements: Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills; High School diploma: GED equivalent or High School certificate Education/Knowledge: Experience: Less than one year. Training in Cardiac monitoring and documentation- Certification Preferred.
BLS is required - American Heart Association.
