Job Summary:
Under direction of the Practice Manager, the Medical Assistant (MA) provides day-to-day administrative, direct patient care and clinical support to the Ambulatory Services department through administrative and medical/nursing support. The MA must have the ability to take adult and pediatric basic vital signs including height and weight, blood pressure, visual acuity, color vision, and draw blood accurately. They must be able to document information in the electronic health record. The individual performing this job routinely interacts with administrative, medical staff, other GMC departmental staff and patients.
Employment Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be a graduate of an accredited medical assistant program.
- Must have BLS/CPR for healthcare providers through the American Heart Association.
- Certified Medical Assistant required
- 2+ years of experience required
- Must have customer service skills, including verbal and written communications, adaptable, organized, problem solver, communication skills, good listener, compassionate, non-judgmental, & self-control.
