Jackson Therapy Partners is hiring an experienced LCSW for a full-time Days position in Sitka, AK at a hospital where you will provide evidence-based, culturally relevant crisis intervention services in the emergency department and other hospital departments. You will evaluate individuals in crisis, determine appropriate levels of care including involuntary psychiatric hospitalization under Alaska Statute Title 47, perform intake/diagnostic evaluations, crisis counseling and intervention, discharge planning, and coordinate care with external agencies. You will document all services in the electronic health record and participate as a professional member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related discipline from an accredited educational institution.
- Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). Professional Counselor (LPC) or Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) license preferred. Once licensure is obtained, it must be maintained for the duration of employment.
- Two years experience in a mental health, substance use treatment program, or similar behavioral health social service agency.
- Experience with behavioral health assessment and diagnoses for patients of all ages.
- Experience performing crisis intervention, safety/risk assessments for suicide/self-harm/homicide, and developing safety plans.
- Experience implementing and documenting Alaska Title 47 involuntary hold and treatment forms.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate care with external agencies, psychiatric facilities, and community resources.
- Valid State of Alaska driver’s license or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within three months of hire.
- Clinical competency assessment as required by employer (SEARHC Clinical Competency at 3 months and every 3 years thereafter).
- Ability to maintain timely, accurate documentation in an electronic health record consistent with HIPAA and regulatory requirements.
- Knowledge of federal and state mandatory reporting requirements, ethical and legal management practices, and documentation regulations relevant to behavioral health care.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary hospital treatment team and apply Trauma Informed Care principles.
- Alaska State Chemical Dependency Counselor I or MAC certificate or equivalent preferred.
