Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) – $60/hr

Part-Time | Temporary | Maternity Leave Coverage | Placentia, CA

Our family-friendly, patient-focused private dental practice in Placentia, CA is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) for a 3-month temporary position covering maternity leave.

Position Details

Pay: $60/hour
Position: Part-Time, Temporary
Reason: Maternity leave coverage
Start Date: September 10, 2026
Duration: Approximately 3 months
Patient Schedule: 1 hour per patient

Schedule

Tuesday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
1-hour lunch
Thursday: 7:00 AM – 3:45 PM
30-minute lunch

RDH Requirements

Active California Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license
Valid CPR certification
Laser certification
Proficient with intraoral cameras
Knowledge of Dentrix and Dexis software preferred
Minimum of 2-year work experience
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to patient care
Strong communication and patient education skills
Comfortable discussing periodontal needs and recommended restorative treatment
Team-oriented, reliable, and professional

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive preventive and periodontal dental hygiene care
Perform prophylaxis, periodontal maintenance, and scaling and root planing (SRP)
Administer local anesthesia
Take dental radiographs and intraoral photographs
Provide periodontal screenings and monitoring
Apply topical fluoride, sealants, and other preventive materials
Educate patients on oral hygiene and periodontal health
Discuss recommended periodontal treatment and reinforce treatment plans
Collaborate with the dentist and specialists to provide comprehensive patient care
