Thompson Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, is looking for a Class A CDL Operator to join their safety conscious team! The CDL Operator is responsible for the transportation of used hazardous and nonhazardous materials in drums, totes and tanks from local branches for use in Chemical Cleaning Services. Chemical Cleaning for TIS is a project-based operation performed at Customer locations throughout the Southeast Region of the United States. Drivers will transport equipment and chemicals to locations and assist in the Chemical Cleaning Project.

Must be able to travel 75% in the Southeast Region

RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities: 

Act as safety representative responsible for safety policies and procedures of both the company and the customer, including hands-on information regarding operations, safety, equipment, emergency response and administrative functions.

Picks up chemicals from customer locations utilizing tanker units and flatbeds.
Ensures proper loading and unloading of hazardous chemicals/non-hazardous chemicals.
Properly secures the loads.

Complete pre and post trip inspections, driver’s logs and comply with all other vehicle policies and DOT requirements.

Provide general maintenance in the field.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: 

Specific vocational preparation including classroom safety training, on-the-job training and essential experience gained on other jobs.

Language proficiency: understand English at a level to comprehend safety training and respond to instructions in emergency situations.

Valid driver’s license, CDL Class A and other requirements of company’s driving policy required when driving company vehicle or using personal vehicle on company business.

Smartphone required for Electronic Logging Device.

Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) may be required.

Must be knowledgeable in the operation of emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers.

Experience operating a tanker and a flatbed.

Ability to perform manual labor as required

QUALIFICATIONS

What does it take to work for HPC-Industrial?  

High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience.

Class A CDL License, required

HAZMAT and Tanker Endorsements, required
Minimum of 2 years of experience
TWIC, required
