Please consider this opportunity as a traveling Physical Therapist working in a skilled nursing facility in Haverhill, MA. You will evaluate, treat, and provide rehabilitation services to patients following regulatory and clinical practice standards. Responsibilities include standardized assessments, therapeutic interventions (manual techniques, ambulation, therapeutic exercise, modalities), wound care, documentation of treatment minutes and clinical records, participation in care conferences and utilization review meetings, supervising assistants or students as needed, and providing discharge summaries per regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program approved by APTA.
- Active MA state Physical Therapist license required to start the assignment.
- Minimum 1 year of PT experience; experience in long term care or skilled nursing and rehab is required.
- New graduates are considered only if they have completed Level II clinical experience (not limited to Level I observation).
- Ability to perform standardized assessments and document according to regulatory and clinical requirements.
- Ability to supervise PT assistants, rehabilitation aides, and students when necessary.
- BLS certification from AHA or ARC may be required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with wound care and use of DME and assistive devices in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
- Familiarity with electronic clinical documentation systems and recording treatment minutes per regulations.
Assignment Details
- Shift pattern: 8 hour days, 35 GWW.
- Weekend requirement: None.
- May be required to participate in facility-required trainings, in-services, and interdisciplinary meetings.
