Are you ready to take your expertise as a cardiovascular technologist to new heights. Join our team as a Cath Lab Tech (Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) and play a vital role supporting diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. You will assist physicians and Cath Lab personnel in conducting cardiac caths, peripherals, TAVR, device cases, and EP procedures while operating and troubleshooting specialized cath lab equipment and maintaining sterile technique.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
- Associate’s degree in cardiovascular technology, radiologic technology, or a healthcare-related field preferred.
- 0–1 year of experience in an acute care or hospital cath lab setting preferred. Experience with cardiac caths, peripheral interventions, TAVR, and device cases preferred.
- Familiarity with cath lab equipment: intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), intracardiac echo (ICE), contrast injectors, hemodynamic monitoring systems, intra-aortic balloon pump, rotational atherectomy, thrombectomy, and LV assist device preferred.
- Ability to perform procedure documentation, hemodynamic measurements/recording, and ECG recognition during procedures.
- Willingness to adhere to aseptic technique, radiation safety practices, and departmental attendance and productivity standards.
- Weekend requirement: every third or fourth weekend.
- On-call requirement: yes, as scheduled in collaboration with staff.
- State licensure when required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) by CCI preferred.
- Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES) by CCI preferred.
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by CCI preferred.
- Radiography (R), Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI), Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV), or Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) by ARRT preferred.
- RDMS certifications (Abdomen, OB/GYN) or RDCS (Adult Echocardiography) by ARDMS preferred.
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) by ARDMS preferred.
Assignment Details
- Shift hours: 0700–1530.
- Work schedule: Monday–Friday.
- Weekend requirement: every third or fourth weekend.
- On-call as selected in collaboration with other staff.

Impacting the Quality of Care for Patients
As a Cath Lab Technician you will support diagnostic, interventional, and EP procedures by preparing the lab, equipment, and supplies and by assisting the medical team during procedures. You will ensure proper patient documentation, maintain sterile technique, act as a radiation safety representative during X-ray use, and support departmental quality and safety initiatives. You will collaborate with the procedure team and Cath Lab leadership to ensure efficient, safe patient care and participate in unit-based councils and process improvement projects.
