Join our team as a Certified CVOR Surgical Technologist where you will function as a member of a cardiac surgical team, assisting physicians and nurses in the operating room during procedures. You will ensure patient safety by preparing the operating room, sterilizing and preparing specialized equipment, and providing direct support throughout cardiac, vascular, and thoracic cases. This role requires proficiency with perioperative documentation systems and collaboration with multidisciplinary staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current NBSTSA certification or equivalent from an accredited surgical technology program.
- BLS (AHA) certification.
- Minimum 2 years experience as a CVOR/CST technologist. (Client preference: 5+ years CVOR experience.)
- Experience working in cardiac operative environments, including exposure to ECMO, MAZE procedures, and IABP.
- Ability to float to vascular and thoracic cases as needed.
- Status of Virginia state license required. Candidate may use a temporary VA license while permanent license is pending. Include VA license status with submission to avoid rejection.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word. Experience with Excel, Epic, Workday and ShiftWizard preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of CVOR CST experience.
- Prior experience with EPIC electronic medical record in the operating room setting.
Assignment Details
- Shift hours: 6:30 AM - 5:00 PM (4x10s).
- Weekly guaranteed hours: 36.
- On-call requirement: may include weekends and holidays. 6-13 on-call shifts within a 4-week period.
- Float requirements: yes. May float to main OR if no vascular cases.
- Patient population: adult cardiac/vascular/thoracic surgical patients.
