Responsibilities:
JOB SUMMARY
TheService Tech 3-Industrialis responsible forrepairing,maintaining, diagnosing,testingandperformingscheduledinspections onadvanced mechanical refrigeration systems and associated equipment throughout the facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providespreventative and corrective service on refrigeration and HVAC equipment.
- Provides preventativeand corrective service on screw, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors.
- Readsblueprints, runs conduit, wires devices,troubleshoots and performs quality control testing.
- Readsand interprets mechanical and electrical drawings and code specifications fordeterminingwiring layouts.
- Trouble-shoots,testsand repairs various electrical systems and power distribution systems to ensure that they are working properly.
- Utilizes construction and fabrication skills.
- Ensures andmonitorssafe work practices and safety guidelines.
- Be actively involved in all of the elements of the PSM/RMP programs.
- Performs complete inspection with minimal errors.
- Performs upgrades or preventive maintenance tomechanical andelectrical control systems.
- Provides informal and formal training for other team members asrequired.
- Embodies the CoolSys CARES culture (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Empowerment, Safety).
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education / Training
- High school diploma, GED, or completion from trade program or technical school, required.
- EPA Certification (Type I, II and III).
- All required safety certifications.
Work Experience / Skills
- 3-5 years’ work experience in commercial HVAC, refrigeration.
- Experience working on refrigeration equipment in convenience, supermarket stores, industrialchillersand cooling towers.
- Expertknowledge of tools, equipment, and materials common totherefrigeration,HVACandelectrical trade.
- Expertknowledge of refrigeration and HVAC theory and application.
- Expertknowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Expertknowledge of electrical application for high and low voltage electric system.
- Expertknowledge ofwater flow, water cooled equipment and controls.
- Expertknowledge of air flow and pressure.
- Expertknowledge ofdifferent typesof centrifugal compressors, piston compressors, screw compressors.
- Expertknowledge of evaporative and cooling towers,chillersand purgingunit.
- Expertknowledge of ammonia systems.
- Expertskill in the installation, repair, and maintenance of all types of electricalsystem equipment and components.
- Understands quality management system and safety procedures.
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Abilityto supervise team members.
- Ability tobidjobs and make material/equipment lists.
- Skill in both verbal and written communication.
- Skill in both verbal and written communication.
- Validdriver’s licenserequiredat all times.
- Ability to understand and follow all company policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal laws.
- Ability to use typical business tools including E-Mail, Word, Excel, etc.

Work Environment
This job typically operates in convenience stores, grocery stores, food service and/or construction environment with need to work at heights from ladders and/or Scissor lifts. Mechanical rooms can have elevated noise levels. The position regularly works near/with refrigeration/HVAC equipment that can expose the workers to extreme cold from refrigerant and high heat from brazing operations. This role routinely works in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust. These conditions require employees to use the correct PPE and safe work practices.
Physical Demands
This position is very active and requires excellent stamina to perform strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. Employees are regularly required to walk and stand for long periods, hear, drive, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, use hands and fingers, and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
