Responsibilities:
TheSales Engineer will bridge the gap between our engineering team and customers, providing expert advice and technical solutions that help clients understand andutilizeour products. This personworksclosely with our sales team to generate leads, qualify prospects, and provide product demonstrations. Your ability to clearly communicate complex technical concepts will be essential to converting sales opportunities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assistthe sales team by providing technicalexpertisein product demonstrations, customer presentations, and technical proposals.
- Understand customer requirements and recommendappropriate solutionsby offering detailed product specifications, capabilities, and potential use cases.
- Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations to customers, explaining the value and benefits of the solution.
- Collaborate with sales teams to create customized proposals, quotes, and contract documents that meet customer needs.
- Develop andmaintainstrong relationships with customers, addressing technicalquestionsand providing ongoing support.
- Help tailor products to meet customer-specific needs anddemonstratethe integration of products into their existing systems.
- Train customers on the use of products, solutions, andtroubleshootingas necessary.
- Provide valuable feedback from customers to the engineering and product development teams to influence future product offerings.
- Assistwith post-sales support by helping customers with installation, troubleshooting, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Embodies the CoolSys CARES culture (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Empowerment, Safety).
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education / Training
- Bachelor’s degree inMechanicalEngineeringor a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
Work Experience/Skills
- 3+ years of HVAC sales engineering, estimating, or commercial project experience—especially with load calculations, duct, piping, orcontrolssystems.
- Deep understanding of HVAC system design, load calculations (e.g., Manual J/D), and interpreting mechanicaldrawings.
- Proficiencywith HVAC selection/design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Carrier HAP) and Microsoft Office/CRMplatforms.
- Strong aptitude for consultative selling, proposal generation, negotiation, and closingdeals.
- Clear communicator, both written and verbal, capable of engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Willingness to travel (often 20–70%) for client meetings, site assessments, and events.
- Valid driver’s license.
- HVAC orcontrolscertifications (NATE, LEED, etc.)a plus.
- Familiarity with industry standards, codes, and energy efficiency programs.
- Ability to understand and follow all company policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal laws.
- Ability to use typical business tools including E-Mail, Word, Excel, etc.
