Minimum Requirements:
- Active pharmacist license in Iowa required.
- Registration with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy required.
- RPh or PharmD degree required.
- BLS certification required.
- Minimum 2 years hospital pharmacy experience preferred. Client will consider non-CAH hospital backgrounds.
- Experience using EPIC EHR highly preferred.
- Knowledge of federal and state pharmacy laws, medical terminology, pharmaceutical arithmetic, and pharmacy literature.
- Skill in sterile compounding, including sterile IV products and hazardous preparations, preferred or demonstrated competency.
- Ability to create vancomycin dosing regimens and monitor laboratory levels as needed.

Standard Job Description:
We seek a licensed pharmacist to deliver clinical pharmacy services in a hospital setting. Responsibilities include maintaining appropriate storage and records of non-prescription, legend, and controlled substances, ensuring pharmacy security, serving as a clinical resource for providers and nurses, compounding or overseeing compounding of sterile IV products including hazardous products, and dispensing and documenting medications in the electronic medical record. The pharmacist will participate in antibiotic stewardship and pharmacy & therapeutics committees, oversee Omnicell use, summarize interventions in the EHR, document adverse drug reactions, and provide pharmaceutical services as scheduled after hours. The role requires effective communication, attention to detail, problem solving both independently and on teams, and the ability to prioritize and adapt to interruptions.
