Job Summary and Qualifications
The RN Director Progressive Care Unit assumes direct responsibility for all clinical functions in clinical nursing departments assigned, ensuring that employees have effective management, good communication, and appropriate coaching. The Director ensures that the Clinical Coordinators and Charge Nurses fulfill their responsibilities as front-line supervisors. The Director is responsible on a 24-hour basis for the coordination of patient care, administrative, and nursing activities. The Director continually evaluates the quality of care rendered to patients. The Director will also be responsible for assisting in the creation of the budget and the day to day operations of the unit to function within that budget. The Director will work with the staff, physicians, and administration on a continual basis for all quality issues and the selection and request of capital budget items.
What qualifications you will need:
- Current licensure in the State of South Carolina as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Registered Nurse in a Compact State required
- Current BLS upon hire required by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
- Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required; BSN preferred
- 3+ years recent nursing practice in an acute care setting required, 2+ years of experience in a nursing leadership position highly preferred
