Our client, a Fortune 50 Financial Services company, is seeking a Teradata Engineer to join their team.
Job Title: Teradata Engineer
Location: Charlotte, NC
Key Responsibilities
- Provide infrastructure-level support for Teradata specialty software, including:
- Data Mover
- Query Grid
- Viewpoint
- BCM (Backup & Control Management)
- Perform platform operations, troubleshooting, tuning, and configuration activities within the Teradata environment.
- Support and enhance the stability and performance of the Teradata ecosystem outside the database layer.
- Execute low‑to‑moderately complex engineering tasks, analyze technical issues, evaluate alternatives, and document recommendations.
- Contribute to process improvements within Database Engineering and assist with developing and refining operational support models.
- Collaborate with peers, engineering teams, and stakeholders to resolve issues, upgrade software, deploy patches, and support platform needs.
- Maintain strong adherence to enterprise policies, security standards, compliance requirements, and change‑management procedures.
- Provide engineering support information to clients and internal teams as required.
Must‑Have Skills
- Hands-on experience supporting Teradata infrastructure, specifically:
- Data Mover
- Query Grid
- Viewpoint
- BCM
- Strong UNIX (SLES – SUSE Linux Enterprise Server) experience.
- Proven experience in an infrastructure support role involving enterprise database platforms.
Nice to Have (Highly Preferred)
- AI/automation experience (major differentiator for candidate resumes).
- Certificate management support.
- Vulnerability management experience.
- Experience with Data Domain and Object Store environments.
- Experience with Ansible and EPLX.
