Are you a skilled Telemetry RN eager to make a difference in a dynamic and fast-paced environment? Do you have a passion for providing exceptional care to patients undergoing complex surgical procedures? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
Join our healthcare partner's Med Surg/Telemetry unit, where you will play a crucial role in caring for patients with a variety of surgical needs, from neuro and orthopedic surgeries to urgent OR cases. This is a unique chance to work in an acute care setting with a supportive team, utilizing your expertise in EPIC systems and surgical nursing.
- Provide primary care nursing in a 48-bed unit with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-6 at night
- Collaborate with LPNs, virtual admission and discharge nurses, and tele monitor techs
- Manage patients with complex needs, including PCA pumps, TPN/Lipids, and narcotic usage
- Interpret telemetry strips and titrate drips such as Heparin per protocol
- Work every other weekend and participate in holiday rotations
- Float to similar units as needed, with no patient load in higher acuity areas
- Participate in a comprehensive orientation program
Requirements:
- Current RN license
- 1 year of surgical experience, including total joint experience
- BLS and NIHSS certifications
- Experience with EPIC charting system
- Understanding of PCA pumps, reversal drugs, and sepsis management
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts starting at 7 AM
