Provides genetic counseling, test coordination, and follow-up for patients in the Piedmont Cancer Genetics Program. Supports referring providers and provides cancer genetics education and outreach.
Responsibilities: The Genetic Counselor for Oncology provides genetic counseling, test coordination, and follow-up for patients in the Piedmont Cancer Genetics Program. The incumbent supports referring providers & oncology team, provides cancer genetics education and outreach, and engages in genetics program activities. Qualifications:
Education- Masters degree Genetic Counseling or equivalent program from an ABGC or ABMG accredited training program Required
- Masters degree in Genetic Counseling from an ABGC or ABMG accredited training program or an equivalent program approved by the ABGC or the ABMG Required
Work Experience- 1 year Genetic counseling experience Required
- Work experience in oncology/cancer genetic counseling Preferred
- Experience with Epic and Progeny software Preferred
- 4 years of genetic counseling experience Required
- Work experience in oncology/cancer genetic counseling Preferred
- Experience with Epic and Progeny software Preferred
Licenses and Certifications- ABGC - American Board of Genetic Counseling Genetic Counselor License for the State of Georgia Upon Hire Required
- Board Certification (or Board Eligible) in Genetic Counseling by the American Board of Genetic Counseling Required
- Active Genetic Counselor License (Full or Temporary) for the State of Georgia Required
