What you’ll be doing
- Provide occupational therapy services as prescribed by consumer’s physician for adults and adolescents with neuro diagnoses within the Occupational Therapy Work Training Program, focusing on work readiness, vocational skills, and functional task performance, as well as Post-Acute outpatient and inpatient programming, focusing on return to independence.
- Occupational Therapy responsibilities includes evaluations, creating treatment plans, completing progress reports, and daily documentation. Coordinating external equipment/referrals as needed.
- Treatment plans encompasses Work/Community Retraining, Vocational adaptations, BADL, IADL, home accessibility, adaptive equipment, visual assessment and treatment, pre-driving assessment and training, functional mobility training, and family education.
- Provide hands-on guidance and adaptive strategies to promote independence and participation in work related tasks.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver patient centered care that promote functional recovery and community reintegration for individuals in post-acute neuro rehabilitation.
Anticipated Work Schedule
32+ Hours
Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm (flexible schedule)
Job Requirements
- NBCOT certification as an Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR). Minimum Bachelor’s Degree with certification
- State of Michigan current licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- 2-3 years of work experience with Neurological disorders, Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Injury, and/or Orthopedic injury preferred.
