Position Summary:
, Promotes a healthy workforce at Williamson Health through the oversight of OSHA compliance initiatives for hospital employees, and coordinates all employee Occupational Health Nurse duties and responsibilities. Processes include facilitation of the onboarding process for new employees, clinical in-services as assigned, maintenance and accuracy of employee health records, annual influenza vaccination efforts, annual respiratory protection efforts, and response to hospital-based exposures for employees.
Position Requirements:
Formal Education / Training:
1. Earned a nursing diploma or degree from an accredited college or university.
2. BSN preferred
3. RN licensed by the State of Tennessee
Workplace Experience:
RN with at least three years of clinical nursing experience that will promote acclimation to the Occupational Health environment.
Equipment and Skills Training:
The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, to function independently and collaboratively, and to demonstrate a fundamental understanding of nursing care standards within a variety of settings. Adaptability to technology, chart review ability, attention to detail, intermediate computer skills, excellent interpersonal communication skills and proper telephone etiquette.

Key Results:
Conducts clinical and non-clinical in-services as required by needs assessment and/or request. Participates in Clinical Process Teams as assigned. Supports community health programs as needed.
Evaluates new hires for employment and works with Human Resources, Lab and Security to provide an efficient on-boarding process.
Oversees (Contributes to) Occupational Health program and maintenance of employee health files as well as updating Meditech health records for WMC.
Coordinates Performance Improvement initiatives in the area of Occupational Health.
Maintains Occupational Health policies and protocols. Occupational Health Medical Director to sign annually.
Prepares reports for environment of care, infection control and other committees as needed for review or use, as well as reporting flu statistics to Infection Preventionist/Quality Department for all staff, licensed professionals, students, and volunteers.
Reports any potential TB exposures to Infection Preventionist for reporting to proper committees or local health department. Performs appropriate employee exposure tracers and notifications to employees. Documents appropriately. Documents employee exposures and follow-up testing.
Maintain current knowledge of standards in occupational health and infection control.
Participates in ongoing education programs for current employees concerning occupational health issues.
Notifies employees of the need for vaccination updates (TB skin tests, Hepatitis B vaccines, and others), and keeps documentation updated as well as coordinates flu and FIT testing clinics.
Participates in OSHA/TOSHA visits.
Maintains a positive working relationship with departmental co-workers, physicians and fellow employees.
